Valentine P-Day!

MOMMA!!!

So this past week was pretty crazy!! Lets start off with an interesting story, so last week on Wednesday we went on splits with some members to go out and visit some people, I went out with 2 young men 18 and 19 and we went around and tried a couple potentials out and it didn't work. Keep in mind both of these are recent converts and one is kind of less active, but they are here helping me out. SO we try with no luck contacting these potentials, and after like 40 min of this the LA member says hey can you drop me off and I'll get picked up, and I say sure, and so we talk about where for a bit and then I take him to a liquor store.. and then we are talking for a little while, I'm just trying to get to know him better and be his friend, but then we say bye and he starts getting out, and as he gets out he says, Hey Ricky (18 year old) c'mon, Ricky was like, nah I'll just get dropped off and go home with my dad, but then Juan was like, psh c'mon Ricky, so they both left and walked away. And I was kind of worried for Ricky going away with LA Juan, but then as I drove away, I checked the seat next to me, and then the back seat, and said, huh.. I'm alone! hahaha! We were on splits and I just dropped the people I was with off and was alone for like the next 30 min haha it was kind of crazy, I also didn't have the phone with me at the time, so I took the 2 min drive up the hill to the temple parking lot and parked and waited for like 30 min till I saw some other missionaries and then I just chilled with them 'till my comp got back at the end of the night. He got back at like 9:40, way past when splits is supposed to end, but all was well and I was ok, and alone, it was really weird haha!

Good thing was Elder Jensen added a new investigator that night, his name is Michael and he's 18. He came to church that Sunday and we had a really good lesson with him after church so that was cool, next crazy thing was we also had "Why I Believe" that night, which is a fireside for recent converts to share there testimonies, and Elder Jensen and I being the Oakland ZL's, we organize and direct the meeting in Spanish, so we also had that Sunday night. But there's a twist! Elder Costa from the 70 came and also spoke and I was the translator that night so I got to translate for him which was super neat! He was the easiest one out of all of them because he was calm and slow as he talked while the other people were rushed and freaking out a bit. But still, it was a pretty cool experience!

And since then we've been doing good on finding this week and had temple day today which is the last time I'll go through this temple for a long while which is pretty sad, but it was also really cool today, we went a couple hours early with the other Spanish elders and did baptisms and then we were still so early that we went to a different session and it was in a smaller room I hadn't been in and it was pretty neat! Then after that we rushed over to a nearby bowling alley and had a good time with our zone over there! So that's been our day, not much else planned except for splits tonight but we hopefully wont see a repeat of last weeks episode haha, Miss you, took lots of pics so I'll send them! Love you!
