Two Weeks till Christmas!

Thank you for all of the packages and for sending my old stuff!!! I'm sure Betty's is going to love getting some more aprons!! I'm sorry I still dont know my own address haha but you could have everyone send packages to Betty's? 

So, for Sunday our ward will start at 1 and we are only having it for one hour too. Then after that we are going over to Betty's to skyp! 

I hope you guys have fun caroling!! I'm going to miss that this year for sure!!

Yes Jeffrey and Emily got baptized and it was awesome!! I'll attach those pics in just a second! 

So yesterday we were in a lesson with this kid named Anderson with a set of other elders too, I got to hear one of the other elders, Elder Harrison, bare his conversion story and I could really feel the spirit.  Then after that we went to the chapel for a testimony meeting with the missionaries in our zone because one sister is leaving early, she tore her ACL. We only got there in time to see the end of it, but that final testimony really brought the spirit into the room, it made me want to share the gospel and be a better person. What this sister said was once she's being judged before God, she doesn't want him to point to a line of people and ask, why didn't you open your mouth? Why didn't you bring my children back to me? Basically what I felt was that we shouldn't suppress impressions to talk to people, and even further than that we don't need to have an impression to talk to someone! Because we don't know who the lord has prepared to hear the Gospel, and we won't know until we ask.

It's December!

I've missed you a ton too!! This week has been kind of hard but I'm good. I had a dream this past week that I was sleeping in the garage at home on one of the cots, super weird right, and when I woke up (in the dream) I was like, I'm not supposed to be home what the heck is happening, and so I opened the garage door to see what was going on, and I heard you call to Mason or Ammon and said go get Brig for dinner, and I was like what the heck, am I home? And then I woke up and I was supper sad. 

Ya, I think the little boy that mimicking me in the video is her son, but I'm not sure haha. Yes, keep sending stuff to Betty's it's all good! And I'm sure its all good if everyone else sends stuff there too! So Elder Silva grew up in Peru, but he lived in Utah for like 5 years. So I'm sure he's getting stuff too. If you want to send him stuff you can but you don't have to. Sister Betty would probably love aprons, I think that would be hilarious!! and awesome!! Yes you can keeping sending stuff to Betty's its all good!! 

AMMON!!! I can believe you're gonna be 12 that's so sick!!! It's crazy how old you already are!! I miss you a ton and pray for you all the time!! I love getting pictures from you and I love your emails you send!! Keep being awesome!! Be smart with that gift that you might be getting;) (air soft gun)Love you dude!!

Ya, that video is so cool!! Light the World, do service!! Ya, we can take some investigators or less actives to the Temple and its pretty cool!! But, its not as pretty as the Mesa Temple haha! I can't think of anything else I would want for Christmas!!! But thank you so much for everything! Nothing too crazy happened this last week, I've just been reading a ton in the book of mormon which is SO COOL!!! Im in alma 43 and its awesome! So i just gotta say read the scriptures because they are so amazing! I'll send some pictures in just a sec!! love you!!

Dang im so excited for those guys to get out on missions!! Partay, we all gonna know some Spanish up in here!!!!  Well, I hope you guys enjoyed your  Thanksgiving!! They had some really good sweet potatoes actually, so that was one of my favorites, didn't get any good mashed potatoes this year though but thats ok! 

As for Jeffrey and Emily I'm not sure who's doing the actual baptizing yet, I think the kids will get to pick but you know the important thing is that they get baptized:) 

I've got some more good pics in front of the temple that I'll send in a second!! They just recently turned on the Christmas lights there!! Its pretty good but the Mesa temple is better haha!! Ya the weather here is pretty unpredictable when you don't have an IPhone to check haha, it rains every now and then so its nice to have that rain coat!! I think I would wear some more sweaters actually! I've worn that red one a couple times and I really like it!! Ya i guess a tie or some Christmas socks couldn't hurt haha!! That would be awesome!! And ya maybe I'll start buying more stuff I need with my personal card now haha, I've just been trying my hardest not to use it at all whatsoever hahaha!!

So, yesterday, Sunday, was pretty eventful if i might say. The six missionarys in the ward did a musical which we've been practicing for like a week now which was pretty fun, but what I didn't know was that Pres Frandsen was going to show up with Sister Frandsen hahaha. In fact they were the speakers during sacrament meeting haha. Along with Elder Cordon from the quorum of the 70, he showed up as well haha. So no pressure on my singing or anything! But, then during opening exercises after sunday school he kind of just took over and taught a really cool lesson. For me I probably understand about 60 percent of what goes on in church but, I understood the message of what he was trying to say. Now I know you guys dont have this struggle as parents that speak the same language to your kids, but for most of the people in our ward, the adults dont know much English or really any at all, and so if they are to ask their kids some thing the kids usually respond in English, and he related that to the language of the gospel, how if you say something to your kids concerning the gospel they will answer in the language of the world. The world speaks louder than the gospel right now, just like English is more influential than Spanish for those kids. And as parents its super important to get kids started right, choosing the right at a young age so they can be ready for bigger life decisions when they're older. Pretty cool stuff!! And ya know he said it a lot better than I could summarize it but, it was cool to be there and hear that.

Thanksgiving Week

Sorry if I scared you by not emailing on monday! We had half of a p day and we went to the public library to try at like 12 and figured out it was closed until 1 which is when our half p day was over so i was super upset!! This Thanksgiving we are going to go to Hermana Betty's house and to a recent convert's house so it's going to be so awesome!! 

So, yes we use maps all the time, but we do have a gps now which is pretty fancy! I'm getting better with directions and stuff but, even the other day I was walking down the street so confident, just to find I was headed the exact opposite direction that I wanted to be heading, hahaha!! But it is going good! 

Jeffery and Emily are still doing awesome!! They speak English and Spanish but we teach in English because thats what they prefer to listen to. 

So don't hate me but my camera is in a car at the mission home right now and I am at the visitors center so pictures will not be coming through this email but I will run over and go grab them as soon as I can and try to send them today!!! I hope you guys enjoy your thanksgiving at Grammy and Grandad's!! I'll try to get in touch with Dev thanks for letting me know! I love that kid so much!!

I'm doing pretty good, aside from a couple words here and there, I can understand most of what's going on in church which is awesome!! Took me long enough! Elder Silva's doing good too! We're just working hard on getting Jeffery and Emily baptised! 

Thank you so much for the package I just got it today!! How did you know that was my favorite type of cookie haha!!! I'm expecting  to stay in my same area through Christmas because transfers are a couple days after! I'm not positive on where we'll skype from, we don't email from our chapel and right now I'm emailing in the temple so I'm not sure, I'll figure that out later! 

Ok so I just ran to the car and got my camera so pictures are coming after this email!!! I love you all so much and pray for you all the time!! BYE!!!!!

Brig and I got to email back and forth for a bit and here is one other great word of wisdom from my missionary!!

Hey Momma, my Thanksgiving will be good I think! The temple here is awesome and HUGE (Jimmy Fallon impersonating Trump voice) and it was super cool! I just want to share that the more you share your testimony the stronger it grows, I got to see that a lot this past week which was really cool because I usually just heard other people say that and never really had that experience for myself so, I'm happy to be sharing what I know to the people here in SF it might be kind of hard for me to do that all in Spanish right now but I know I'll get it down!! Love you so much!!

I'm so happy I have Hermana Betty keeping you updated haha! Yes elder Galaz got transfered to Oakland and my new trainer is Elder Silva who hasn't ever been in this area, so its pretty fun trying to lead him around everywhere we need to go! He's a super cool guy though and we're getting along pretty well! 

Ok so the night of the election we were in our room doing nightly planning and could hear riots or protests out on the street from our window, so the people here arent really happy about Trump haha!

We have two investigators that are on date for baptism on the 11th of December!! Their names are Jeffery and Emily and they are 12 and 10 years old! They're super cool and Jeffery has been reading in the Book of Mormon totally on his own, like isn't that crazy!! I totally wasnt keeping up with my reading at that age! So they are super prepared and their mom is less active and shes becoming re activated!! They've come to church the past two weeks which is the best!! 

I'll be looking for the package!! Thank you so much for taking the time to do that!

It feels like the mission is going pretty fast to be honest! So much has happened since the begging of coming to SF its crazy! But ya i miss you guys all the time and I love you all so much!! Ill send some pictures in just a second!!

It's a New Month

And here's all of us just chilling!!

HEY MOMMA!!!

I'm happy and healthy haha! So last week we got to meet with a less active member at Hermana Betty's house and she brought her friend who wasn't a member, so we got to teach her about the restoration of the gospel and about prophets. It's always so cool when people have a ton of questions about the gospel and you can just go to the scriptures to answer them!! We also picked up some new little investigators that are 10 and 12 years old! Their mom is a less active member and so we talked to them and they all came to church yesterday and they all asked for blessings and it was really cool to see them feeling the spirit. 
I think my camera is going to work today for reals! So I'll send some for sure after this!! Tell Jaxson I say hi and that I freaking love that guy!!! As for the USB ya send it to the mission office . Maybe if you could send a couple more socks would be good and ya a sweater would be sick too!! Love you all so much Im going send some pictures now!!

Ya sorry about no pics last week! I tried so send them but the chord wasnt working and it wouldnt register up on the computer that the camera was even plugged in! So im still trying to work out how to use the dang thing! So, I'll keep trying! 

I think my talk went ok haha it was all in Spanish of course, but thats because not everyone understands engish haha! I talked about Jacob 5 and the parable of the olive tree, it's pretty long but its super awesome!! 

Thats so cool that Taya gave a talk!! And ya I stopped sending the group email haha, I dont have the patience to make it! But I hope the boys enjoy their Halloween!! Tell everyone that goes to the party that I say HI!!! Love you guys so much!!!

Working with the Members

MOMMA!! 

So, Hermana Betty is super awesome! She cooked us a full fish with bones and everything which was a little weird for me but it tasted great! And then when she asked me for you number and started calling you we were just cracking up! To be honest I'm not sure how long she's lived here, but she has a 17 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. She's super nice and loves all the missionarys and is always feeding them which is awesome, the only problem is she speaks faster spanish than anyone I know hahaha! 

I speak next week and I just chose my topic from my personal reading in Jacob 5 where he talks about the parable of the Olive tree and the lord of the vineyard. It's crazy how much more interesting the scriptures are now that I'm on a mission haha, I actually really enjoy reading them!

I did get the package with the allergy stuff and the jacket so thank you! But ya just send the thumb drive as soon as you can! No rush though! 

Dang 97 is pretty hot, I was wondering what the temperatures were like in AZ right now! It gets pretty chilly here but idk what it drops down to because i dont have a phone haha! 

Ammon is a STUD!!! Of course he got student of the month for PE for the whole school! I wanna see some pics of the bros!! Its awesome to hear you go to the temple so often!! Keep it up, I know I need those prayers!! Alright I'm gonna try to get my camera hooked up now to send some pics so just one second!

Sadly, Brig didn't figure out his camera this week, but the good news is Sis Betty sent me pics!!!

San Francisco!

Ya im in the city right now at 22nd and Mission living in an apartment. Its just Elder Galaz and I over there but it's all good!! We got a cool little basketball hoop to go on my bunk bed haha. He's been out for 10 months now and is our district leader so thats pretty cool! We hang out with the other district leaders as much as possible because they're so funny!! They're from Detroit and Ethiopia! Every week we got to the Daly City chapel for our Spanish Ward which is super cool! Im actually giving a talk in like 2 weeks and my comp gave one last week so woot woot! The members of the ward are pretty awesome but we dont know too many of them right now so were just working on getting to know them, and let me tell ya, those Spanish names are so hard to remember!! Anyways its good to hear the boys are off roading and having a good time in Utah! I've got my camera here with me so im going to try my hardest to get some pictures sent to you guys!! Love all of the pictures I'm getting from you, so if this doesnt work dont stop sending!!!! haha 

The city is awesome and the people are pretty cool, not always the nicest and not always strait, but im having a great time!! If you could get me a thumb drive with a ton of songs on it, only hymnns or renditions of hymns are allowed so like BYU vocal point is good or MoTab and get this one mash up of Come thou fount and If you could hie to Kolob sung by some girls or something!! its way good too. All the music down here is worked through thumb drives! But I think thats it for now!! Love you so much and tell the others I love them so much!! I'm going to try and figure out this camera now!!!

Elder Dayton's In the Field!

Ya its been a long time since I've emailed!! It's crazy busy over here in San Fan, just in case you all didnt know that was my first area! My new dad is Elder Galaz, he was born in Mexico and then moved to Colorado, so he knows English and Spanish super great, so it's awesome!! We've done lots of walking and biking and riding the bart, which is like the underground bus thing. So it's been super awesome so far! We went to a members house and her daughter is like super in-active and hadn't gone to church in a year and we got her to go the other day which was super awesome!! So we're going to be working real hard with her! There was only 2 investigators in this area and Elder Galaz and I tried visiting them but neither of them answered so we'll have to keep working on that!! As for sending me a jacket, ya I think that would be awesome! It would be cool if you guys could send another Alertec bottle too!! Today was pretty sweet, we got together and had some hamburgers and then played soccer so it was pretty sick today!! Sorry I'm way short on time!! Love you guys so much!!

2 Days to Go in the MTC

Jeez, nobody had faith in me to remember you birthday hahaha!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! I love you so much you´re the best mom in the world!! 

Conference was so sick!! I don't have my notes with me but, the Japanese guy´s talk was incredible!! And I cant wait to find out my reason for being called where I've been called! His was probably one of my favorites! 

So my time here is getting pretty short, already said goodbye to four incredible guys that all left for LA this morning at like 2:30am. Tonight I've got to say goodbye to my comp, which is gonna suck!! Yesterday we all gave our comps blessings and it was really cool to be able to do that for the first time, not knowing how it would go, but knowing it was for someone I love and care about. I wasn't too nervous about it. 

I think I've got some pictures right now that I´ll send to you in a second and more that are on their way of the whole district.

Ya I wish the boys could be there when I call but you´ll just have to tell them how much I flipping love them!! Even though they already know it! So im flying to LA with at least three other people and then to Oakland with two other people that are in my same mission!! That´s it for now i think! I´ll send you those pics in a second!!
